Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 24, 2024
This Privacy Policy explains how Urva Links collects, uses, and protects information across our Chrome extension and mobile app. When we say "Services," we mean both products unless a difference is noted below.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to deliver and improve the Services:
- Account details: Name, email address, and authentication identifiers when you sign up or authenticate with Urva Links.
- Saved content: Titles, URLs, tags, notes, reminders, and board assignments you create.
- Usage data: Device type, app version, feature usage, and diagnostics collected to keep the Services reliable.
Chrome extension: Collects the active tab URL, title, and any notes or tags you submit so the link can be stored in your Urva Links boards. No browsing history outside the tab you save is accessed or retained.
Mobile app: Syncs the same saved content, reminders, and metadata you create on mobile or through the extension. The app does not access your mobile browser history; it only works with data stored in your Urva Links account.
How We Use Information
We use collected data to provide and personalize the Services, offer customer support, improve product performance, and send service updates. Usage analytics are aggregated and anonymized whenever possible. Neither the Chrome extension nor the mobile app sells personal information or uses it for unrelated advertising.
Data Storage and Security
Information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited to authorized Urva Links personnel who require it to operate the Services. The Chrome extension synchronizes data with the same secure backend as the mobile app, ensuring consistent safeguards across platforms.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us deliver the Services, subject to contractual obligations, or when required by law. Both the Chrome extension and mobile app rely on the same backend integrations; no additional browser-specific data is shared beyond what is required to save the link you request.
Third-Party Services
Urva Links uses Google Firebase for authentication, real-time databases, analytics, and cloud functions. These providers may process limited personal information on our behalf as part of delivering the Services. You can review Firebase's privacy documentation at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Your Rights and Choices
You can access, update, export, or delete your saved links and account information directly from the Services. Requests to close an account or exercise data protection rights can be sent using the contact channels below. The Chrome extension and mobile app provide the same account controls and honor your preferences across both platforms.
